Description:   This is a gorgeous quilt made with a Variable Star block and an Irish Chain block slightly modified to make 6" by 6" blocks.  They were so easy to piece and for me were quite addicting (a hint as to the name of this class).  I've made more than 200 of these little blocks in a variety of color combinations--one in pastels. one in brights, and one in Kaffe Fassett's fabrics

Skill Level:  All Levels

Skill, Technique, or Method:  Excellent Piecing

Pattern Fee:  $10

Fabric Requirements:

An assortment of print fabrics in a variety of colors.

You can use scraps, fat quarters or fat eighths.

The largest shape you will need to cut is only 3-1/2” square

and for one of each block you will cut two 3-1/2” squares

and one strip 2” by 20” or a 7” strip and a 13” strip.

You can also make your blocks with solid colors.

One to three yards of background. You can cut 8 sets of blocks

from a half yard of background and that would make a quilt

23” by 23” without borders.

Finished project size:   There is not a finished size as you will be learning how to make the two blocks and then determine what you want to make--from a wall hanging to a baby quilt to something larger. I will show you how to make the applique that is on one of the quilts if you are interested.
