Description:   The original quilt was made with only 5 color choices.  I used 13 fat quarters and love the way it turned out.  The pattern looks like there are two blocks to make but it’s only one.  “The quilt blocks are 15”x 15” and create a fun, secondary pattern when sewn together.”  Fat quarter or scrapy friendly

 

Skill Level:  Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced, All Levels

 

Skill, Technique, or Method:  Learn accurate quarter inch seams, half square triangles in mass, and pressing techniques to make this block lay perfectly

Fabric Requirements:

If you choose the 5 color method:

• 2 1/4 yard background

• 1 1/4 yard Color 2

• 1/2 yard Color 3

• 3/4 yard Color 4

• 1/8 yard Color 5

• 7/8 yard border

• 5/8 yard binding

• 3 1/2 yard backing

 

If you choose to use Fat Quarters:

• 12 fat quarters (throw size)

• 1/8 yard or 1 fat quarter for center square (if you want the center square to be all the same)

• 2 1/4 yard background fabric

• 7/8 yard border

• 5/8 yard binding

• 3 1/2 yard backing

 

Finished project size: 53" x 68"
